Psychological therapy -- or counseling -- is extremely important as an adjunct to other behavioral programs and the use of medication. In most cases, people who are accurately diagnosed with ADHD will exhibit biologically-based issues regarding self-regulation. This can manifest itself with attention issues, impulse control and behavioral concerns. Although these may be chronic throughout one's lifetime, therapeutic psychological interventions can often make coping with these difficulties easier for our client, and critically, for those close to them as well. Ultimately, the goal is to increase the amount of self-control, self-awareness and self-confidence clients have and to help them to be more successful in all the environments in which they must function.

Counseling along with reviewing the entire issues affecting our client is, in some ways, the linchpin to our program. We look at all aspects of ones life, their mental, emotional, physical and psychological self. We then take that and evaluate the concerns with school, work, relationships, self-esteem and ability to cope in life's situations and develop an action plan of hope. We bring our clients the balance of diet, exercise, tutoring, medication, music and learning that will truly allow them to connect with their greatest potential.
